The Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was in Milano to receive the Premio Brera award for Sportsmanship, and was asked about Daniele De Rossi’s insult to Mario Mandzukic. In the clash between Juventus and Roma, De Rossi called Mandzukic a “sh**** gypsy” which was caught on TV.
Buffon, responded in a somewhat coy manner.
“I think every once in awhile a player on the field makes a mistake. I think that a few things come out of their mouths on the pitch, every Sunday, and when you have the TV camera catch you fragrantly [saying something derogatory] it’s clear that you have to apologize.”
