Alvaro Morata expressed his delight at getting back on the scoresheet after over 1,000 minutes without a goal.
In his post-match interview, he told reporters about his recent struggles and thanked his teammates for being there for him. The former Real Madrid man said,:
“I went through a difficult period, both on and off the field. I have many mental problems. Every champion has had difficult moments. I had to figure out that I’m a normal player. I’d like to thank my teammates, they are incredible. They spoke with me and supported me greatly. The turnaround moment came late. I work every day, I’m different from yesterday. I live for the goals and hope to continue like this.”
