Struggling to keep a clean sheet these days, Roma and their new coach, Luciano Spalletti, are desperate to cure their defensive woes and are scanning the mercato for a new solution. As per Sportitalia, the Giallorossi are planning to relaunch a bid for Empoli center-back, Lorenzo Tonelli with a proposed €10 million offer. The 23-year old is a key piece to Empoli’s backline and Roma will not find it easy to pry him away from a club who are inching closer to European spot in Serie A.
Tonelli has started 17 games for Empoli this season, adding two goals. His only missed appearances were due to two suspensions and an injury.
