Italian youngster Falcinelli could be a commodity on the market in January.
With a contract ending in June 2016, Sassuolo’s Diego Falcinelli has become a suitable transfer option for a handful of Italian clubs. As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Carpi, Hellas Verona and Bari have shown interest in signing the 24 year-old attacker who is a year removed from scoring a career-best 14 goals for his hometown club, Perugia.
Falcinelli does have a decision to make on his future seeing as he is hardly in Di Francesco’s plans for the long-term. Either he remains with Sassuolo until the end of June and then finds himself a new club or signs a one-year extension that would likely send him out on loan.
Falcinelli has taken the field 6 times for Sassuolo in the first half of the season without a goal to his name. Prior to this season, he had loan spells at Perugia, Virtus Lanciano and Juve Stabia over the course of the last four years.
