Speaking to Sky Sport 24, Andrea Barzagli admitted his side needs to improve.
“Last year the bad start wasn’t voluntary, this year we’ve started off well and we’ve done what we were expected of. We’ve had a difficult start because the first two games have been against difficult team, but we’ve played well to win despite a so-so first half.
Why a ‘so-so’ first half?
“We were a bit slow with our movement, we lost control of the ball at different times. In the second half we started better, we lost less balls and created more chances to score, and finally it came.”
How much can this team grow?
“A lot, in football you can always get better but it’s difficult to make it to perfection. But the mentality needs to be just that: step by step with our new signings we’ll get to know them better, we hope to have a great year.”
