Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi spoke to the media after his side’s win over Lazio and stated that he felt his team dominated the proceedings.
Florenzi came on in the second half for an injured Mohamed Salah but was unable to make an impact on the game. By the time he came on, however, the game was already 2-0 for Roma and a Lazio comeback looked unlikely. The Italy international was pleased with his team’s win in the Derby della Capitale and told reporters of Sky Sport:
“We created many chances. Them, on the other hand, didn’t create much apart from Felipe Anderson’s shot that hit the cross bar and Klose’s chance at the end. Today, we dominated this game and it showed.”
Today, you guys worked hard for each other.
“The team is mature and I think this was on display today. Even against Inter, we didn’t play a bad game. Today, I repeat, we dominated a very good Lazio side.”
How do the foreign players feeling after winning the derby?
“Today, everyone realized how important the derby is for the fans. Today, the win is for them and for the Roma and Lazio fans who did not come to the stadium. Playing a derby in these conditions wasn’t the same. Usually you feel 100% of the game while today I felt 99% of it. We’ll look to keep playing like this and see where we finish.”
