Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa was bitter following his team’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo.
Speaking with Sky Sport, here is what he had to say:
“I am disappointed, we paid for the energy spent last Thursday (in Europa League play vs Basel) and Sassuolo were better in the second half. It’s too bad we had the opportunity to go ahead 2-0 and then after the break we were tired and unable to anticipate our opponent. We had to do a better job managing our fatigue. We didn’t capitalize on our chances to extend our lead. The team worked hard, they made a strong effort. We had many fans in attendance and it made us very happy.”
Sousa went on to discuss how Giuseppe Rossi is doing:
“He is working to return to playing at his best. We want to help him and in order to do this it is important that he plays. He is a lad that needs help.”
