Lorenzo Insigne had quite an interesting interview following his performance against Hellas, in which he scored his 7th goal of the Serie A campaign so far.
When Lorenzo was asked about Antonio Conte’s decision to exclude him from the Italy squad, the young Neapolitan responded with;
“There was no explanation for the exclusion, I accept his (Conte) decision, I will look to change his (Conte’s) mind on the pitch.”
Next, he was asked how a goal away at Hellas Verona felt, Insigne responded with;
“It’s a great satisfaction to score here after so many whistles and jeers during the match. I dedicate this victory to my city, that it meant a lot to them for us to win this match.”
Indeed it did mean a lot to Neapolitans all around the world for this Napoli to beat Verona away this year. Hellas have been notorious for anti-Neapolitan chants during the coarse of their history. It is not an abnormality that Lorenzo Insigne got the thick of the Hellas fan’s whistles and jeers. What’s the best way to respond to such ignorance? Score against them!
