After his side’s 3-0 defeat to Juventus, Palermo boss Davide Ballardini expressed his dissatisfaction at the result but claims it wasn’t all bad.
Newly-appointed Palermo boss Ballardini believes his side didn’t play the worst of games and were only undone because they needed to push up for an equalizer. After the game he told reporters,:
“For about an hour, Palermo had a very good game. After Juventus’ goal, and this should never happen again, we slowed down. We had many problems going forward even if we tried creating chances. Palermo needs an identity and play as a team. We need to play good in attack and in defence.”
Are you missing something up front?
“We’ll use the guys we have. For fifty minutes, Giardino had a very good game. We have these players and we will see what they can do.”
Did Palermo have too much respect for Juventus tonight?
“We had to be more aggressive and press them higher up the pitch. We were a bit reluctant to do so, and we shouldn’t have been because with the characteristics that we have we could have caused them more problems.”
