Massimiliano Allegri was satisfied with his side’s victory over Milan and doesn’t rule out a potential Scudetto race.
After seeing an uninspiring display from his men, Allegri quickly tweaked his formation at half-time and went with the 3-5-2. His decision to do so paid off as the bianconeri late found a winner through Paulo Dybala. The former Milan boss told Sky Sports,:
“It was a very complicated game as Milan defended very well and caused us some problems. The guys did good, the important thing was to win and leapfrog Milan in the standings. Now it’s time to focus on the Champions League.”
On Dybala’s impressive performance –
“I have always been convinced by Dybala’s quality, it’s normal that I have to manage the whole squad. Dybala is growing and he has important technical qualities. He’s demonstrating this on the pitch.”
Are Juventus in the Scudetto race?
“Today we made up some ground because we won two more points than Roma. When you’re trailing in the race, it’s not easy as you can’t allow yourself to slip up.”
The defence didn’t concede a goal tonight.
“We did not concede a thing other than Cerci’s shot at the end. We have to gain more serenity and move the ball around with less panic. We are starting to string together a number of results, our solidity is important. It’s the second time this season that we didn’t concede a goal at home. The first time was against Atalanta. From a technical standpoint, it wasn’t a good game but it was important to find our solidity again.”
What individuals stuck out to you?
“We made too many mistakes with our passes. Hernanes had a physical problem so I took him off. Marchisio is slowly returning to the player that we are all familiar with. Sturaro was important while Mandzukic did good. Pogo did really well up until our goal but then he slowed down a bit.”
Why didn’t Cuadrado play?
“I couldn’t do more than three substitutions.”
