Allegri: “I Don’t Hope For Anything, I Believe In The Comeback.”

After Juventus’ convincing win against Palermo on Sunday night, Massimiliano Allegri highlighted that he still believes in the Scudetto.

With their win against Palermo, Juventus climb above Milan and Sassuolo in the table and was their fourth consecutive win in the league. After the game, Allegri told Sky Sports,:

“The players had a good game as a whole and in terms of intensity. We are coming off a game on Wednesday that drained a lot of energy from us. There was a risk when we didn’t close the game earlier but we did good. We could have scored a goal in the first half but we were able to find the breakthrough later. We had a great November between qualifying for the next stage of the Champions League and climbing up the table.”

What changed for you guys?

“The fact that we had fresher legs and good physical conditioning. Winning games helps you and the team has made some important progress. They know when to slow the game down or speed it up and keep the ball. They look compact and this was a good result.”

Morata is looking to make a difference with less minutes.

“He’s a 23-year-old player who needs to find continuity. This year he has to deal with different pressures instead of trying to win a starting spot from Tevez or Llorente. This year he is a starter and is treated like Dybala, Mandzukic, and Zaza. Some times he gets angry when things don’t go his way but at the end he will grow into a important player like he already is today.”

Roma are close. Do you hope for a draw tomorrow between Inter and Napoli?

“I don’t hope for anything, I believe in the comeback. We had a good November. The league is a long one, the team wasn’t all of a sudden bad but needed balance. I think it would be very nice to complete the comeback but we have to grow from a technical standpoint because games are won with intensity.”

You didn’t have many players in the box on crosses. How did you guys prepare for this game?

“We prepared for this game in one day, the ability to learn quickly is high. The important thing is to have people who understand what to do when something is said. It’s true that we didn’t have many people in the box on crosses and have to improve in this respect.”

Pogba is suspended. Is Khedira ready to play against Lazio?

“We’ll see. If he’s not there, someone else will play. We have to enjoy this victory while knowing that a tough game awaits us against Lazio.”
