Roma drew 2-2 with Bologna on a water filled pitch and manager Rudi Garcia was furious that the game was not cancelled
Comparing yesterday’s match to water polo with feet, Roma coach Rudi Garcia showed his frustration at the post match press conference in a game that shouldn’t have been played at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
The heavy rain forced both teams to play on a pitch flooded with water making it uncomfortable for the players.
“Tonight we can’t talk about a football game. That was not a football game, that was a football parody. We asked the referee to interrupt the game. How can’t you postpone a game like this? There was little football to see. How could there be in these conditions? The positive thing is that we didn’t suffer any injuries. I can’t discuss anything related to football.”
Garcia left the presser clearly upset and didn’t take any other questions.
Things get more difficult for the giallorossi as they travel to Barcelona for a pivotal Champions League clash at the Camp Nou on Tuesday.
