From bad to worse for Garcia. After suffering a 6-1 loss by Barcelona midweek in the Champions League, Roma have now lost 2-0 Atalanta thanks to goals from Gomez and Denis. Here are Garcia’s post match comments:
“We didn’t put in a good performance. There isn’t much to take from tonight, we let them (Atalanta) control the pace of the game.”
“I have faith in this group, we’ll do the talking on the field, we must keep our mouths shut and be united and work to get out of this difficult moment.”
“I don’t think the Barcelona result had an effect on today’s result, we’ll prove that in the next couple games. I know it’s been a tough week, but the group can prove their worth by putting all of this behind them.”
“I’m angry and disappointed by today’s result, but we must get back to winning ways. We must do better. I’m not angry at just one person, but everyone, we can only win if we stick together.”
“I take responsibility, I prefer that the criticism is hit at me rather then the players.”
“We took a step back today, we wanted to move closer to the top but we failed.”
“With the return of some important players, I’m sure that the blue sky is just peeping out from behind the cloud.”
Garcia also was asked if the next two games are crucial to his Roma future, where he responded by saying “The next game is always important, we must win.”
