Roma’s midfielder William Vainqueur lived up to his name and helped his side claim the three points against Lazio.
After getting a surprise start against Lazio in the Derby della Capitale, Vainqueur put in an accomplished display. The midfielder expressed his satisfaction and highlighted the importance of the derby to him. He told Roma TV:
“I’ll never forget this day. This win is for the team and for the fans. My name in Italian means winner. We worked really hard after the game against Bayer Leverkusen where we conceded preventable goals. We’re all happy and we will now work harder during the international break. Today, I played in my favourite position. As the game went on, my presence was growing that way I can lend the team a big hand.”
