Ferrero: “Sarri’s Suspension Is a Joke.”

After his side’s third consecutive defeat, Massimo Ferrero blasted the FIGC for their light suspension of Maurizio Sarri.

In an interview with Sky Sport, the Sampdoria president said,:

“We played a good game and shouldn’t have lost. When the calls go against you like they did against Juventus and Carpi, these things happen. Even today we had a penalty shot and a red card called against us. In games like these, you will lose if everything’s called against you. If there was more of a balance, we could have competed. You say that football is a game of moments, why are they always called against me? That’s my question and I want an answer.”

Ferrero continued his furious rant and said,:

“I have to be more objective. I’m very angry. I’m a competitor and I would like to see football played fairly. Getting all the calls against you isn’t right.”

On Sarri’s suspension, Ferrero believes the Napoli manager got off lightly,:

“For me, it’s a joke. It’s not a suspension. If Sarri leaves, his two game ban will be served at another team. It doesn’t interest me. He appealed it but for me it’s a joke. Between my (three month suspension) and his, two different punishments were used.”

Despite his side’s recent poor form, Ferrero said,:

“Montella has them playing good football and the players are learning what he wants them to. There are still 16 games and the points will come.”

Ferrero concluded his interview by talking about the transfer window. He said,:

“Sampdoria have some really good players who are improving. Ranocchia’s coming? That’s what they’re saying but until I see him…I’m like Saint Thomas.”
