Champions League Draw: Juventus and Napoli fare well

The two Italian sides have been granted a massive opportunity to move forward from the Group Stage.

Napoli and Juventus have managed to stay away from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and other continental giants.

The Bianconeri will face Sevilla for the second year in a row and will be out with a vengeance after losing to them on Matchday 6. That defeat saw Juve drop to second place and play Bayern in the Round of 16. They will also play Lyon from France and Dinamo Zagreb from Croatia. In years past, Juventus had been placed in tremendous groups that featured Manchester City, Real Madrid and more. Allegri will be pleased with the club’s draw today in Monaco.

For Napoli, it’s more of the same story – actually it’s the story of the draw. It’s likely the most balanced ever sorting and for clubs like the Partenopei they cannot complain. It was an immediate victory to avoid PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich who were drawn in Pot 1. Benfica will be a formidable opponent, but Dynamo Kyiv and Besiktas are winnable games for Sarri’s men.

Champions League draw:

Group A: Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Basel, Ludogorets

Group B: Benfica, Napoli, Dynamo Kyiv, Besiktas

Group C: Barcelona, Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach, Celtic

Group D: Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, PSV, FC Rostov

Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham Hotspur, Monaco

Group F: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Sporting CP, Legia Warsaw

Group G: Leicester City, Porto, Club Brugge, FC Copenhagen

Group H: Juventus, Sevilla, Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb
