The Blues are continuing their hunt for a Serie A defender.
Marcos Alonso is the latest name that has been linked to Conte’s Chelsea. After failing to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, Alessio Romagnoli and Nikola Maksimovic, it’s a surprise they are turning to a fullback.
This morning Chelsea made contacts with the player’s father and that Viola. Alonso had recently renewed his contract in January until 2021, meaning the price tag on the player will be higher.
Fiorentina told Chelsea they will accept nothing less than €25 million, says Gazzetta dello Sport.
With time running out in the transfer market, Chelsea are hurrying the deal to try to push it through and will likely offer a figure very close to €25 million. When Fiorentina renewed his contract, they did not place a release clause on him.
Given the proper fee, Fiorentina would evaluate a sale even at this stage in the window.
