Antonio Conte’s desperate search for a central defender before the transfer window closes has led the club to making a move for Alessio Romagnoli of A.C. Milan.
After seeing several bids for Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napoli, Chelsea have become frustrated in their attempt to bring the Senegalese defender to Stamford Bridge.
According to Sky Italia, the club have now turned their attention to another Serie A defender in Romagnoli, with Chelsea expected to make a bid of 35m euros + 5m in bonuses tomorrow.
Romagnoli only joined the Rossonerri last summer from rivals Roma and with the club already struggling in defence as highlighted in Sunday’s win over Torino, it’s highly unlikely Milan would sell without finding a quick replacement.
