A product of MLS side Real Salt Lake, the Mexican will join the Viola on loan.
Carlos Salcedo, 22-years-old born in Guadalajara is Fiorentina’s newest addition in a transfer market that’s been less than convincing.
A strategy of bringing in several young and inexperienced players could pose quite a problem for head coach Paulo Sousa, but Salcedo will provide some assurances in the back.
Fiorentina released a statement to confirm the move yesterday.
“ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that Carlos Joel Salcedo Hernandez has joined the club on loan from Chivas Guadalajara. The agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent.
The Mexican defender, 22, will arrive in Florence on Tuesday to undergo a medical.”
“I go with a clean slate, like I had when I arrived [at Chivas],” Salcedo told ESPN FC. “I will learn a lot and receive advice from great players that I’ll be with. I leave with a lot of desire to grow. It’s a nice opportunity that has come up and I want to take advantage to the maximum.
“I know Fiorentina play in three competitions, so I will get the opportunity and I researched the head coach.”
The Viola reserve an option to buy at the end of the season-long loan spell.
