Diego Perotti spoke to the Roma media following his side’s 4-0 win at home against Udinese.
He had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes before he scored from the spot. Minutes later, he’d be called upon to double his lead again from the penalty marker.
“It was very important to start with a win,” Perotti said. “After the draw against Porto it was crucial in terms of gaining confidence. Now we’ll rest up ahead of Tuesday [the return leg with in the UEFA Champions League playoff].
“I feel good, [the team] have backed me 100% ever since I joined and that’s massive. I came off the bench today and my first thought was how I could contribute.”
On the Porto game, he stated: “They’ll obviously come out and look to score and we’ll be able to exploit the space they leave us. We got a good draw in the first leg despite playing for long periods with ten men.
“We have to score at home in front of our supporters.”
