Perotti, Dzeko and Salah combined for 4 goals in Roma’s 4-0 victory of Udinese in the opening day of Serie A.
Roma
Wojciech Szczesny (6.5) – Wasn’t tested much considering Udinese only had one shot on goal, but ultimately made no mistakes.
Bruno Peres (7) – Looked solid his first time playing with the team, got forward a lot and took several shots as well as making a few dangerous crosses.
Kostas Manolas (7.5) – Looked solid in the defense, provided consistency.
Thomas Vermaelen (7.5) – Huge improvement over first game with the team, looked solid and got involved.
Emerson (7) – Decent showing, a few good crosses and solid on defense.
Leandro Paredes (7.5) – Good showing from the young midfielder, got involved and looked good going forward.
Kevin Strootman (7) – Looked solid in the midfield, had more touches than anyone else in the game, helped control the possession.
Radja Nainggolan (7) – Did good to get forward, missed an opportunity, but also had a great pass inside to Dzeko to earn an assist.
Stephan El Shaarawy (6) – Looked decent, but never really created anything like Salah did on the other side, once subbed out the team looked stronger going forward.
Mohamed Salah (8) – Players of the game. Key playmaker for the team, did great getting forward and earned himself a goal.
Edin Dzeko (7.5) – Good showing, earned a penalty to get Roma’s first point and scored a goal.
Diego Perotti (7.5) – Looked dangerous all game, once in the game Roma immediately took off and scored 4 goals, two were penalties scored by him.
Federico Fazio (6) – Didn’t play much and wasn’t challenged too much, but looked comfortable.
Juan Jesus (6) – Also did not play much after being subbed on at the 75 minute mark, but looked solid.
Udinese
Orestis Karnezis (5.5) – Difficult day in goal, made a few stops, but would’ve taken a very strong performance to stop the Roma attack.
Danilo (4.5) – Granted a penalty against Dzeko that resulted in a goal and looked inconsistent in the back line.
Samir (5.5) – Another player who struggled in the back.
Thomas Heurtaux (6) – Udinese looked slightly less organized in the back without Heurtaux, left the game at 0-0.
Silvan Widmer (5.5) – Had an ok showing, had the most touches on the team (excluding the goalkeeper).
Ali Adnan (5.5) – Spent most of the time defending, didn’t get to see a lot of him going forward.
Seko Fofana (6) – The young midfielder was somewhat of a bright spot for Udinese, didn’t look bad the few times he had the ball, will have to look at how he does with more possession.
Emmanuel Badu (5) – Another player that struggled, didn’t look comfortable with all the defending.
Emil Hallfresson(6) – Another bright spot for Udinese as the midfielder looked like one of the more involved midfielders. His passing was a particular bright spot.
Rodrigo de Paul (5.5) – subbed off at the 67 minute mark, looked good but didn’t get enough chances.
Duvan Zapata (6.5) – The best player for Udinese on the day, definitely the most dangerous going forward with 3 shots and the only shot on target the team had on the night. Also made a few decent passes.
Gabriele Angella (5.5) – Looked composed, however the back line with Angella looked less stable.
Francesco Lodi (5) – Didn’t see much from Lodi after being subbed on at the 78 minute mark, only saw the ball a couple of times.
Adalberto Penaranda (5) – Took a few shots from distance, none of which were too threatening.
