The Bianconeri got off to a solid start against the Tuscan giants in the opening round of Serie A.
Gonzalo Higuain added to the Sami Khedira opener in the late going of the second half to win it for Juventus
Goalkeeper
Gianluigi Buffon (5.5): Wasn’t tested all evening until a Kalinic header which beat him to his right from a corner kick. Not exactly the statistical start Buffon wanted.
Defenders
Andrea Barzagli (6): No complaints in the Barzagli department this evening. Shackled Bernardeschi easily and was a brick wall for the Fiorentina attack
Leonardo Bonucci (6.5): Quiet and calm the whole night. Never looked beaten at any stage of the evening.
Giorgio Chiellini (7): Faced more tests than anybody else on the defensive line. Blocked a few of Cristian Tello’s crosses that could’ve led to trouble.
Midfielders
Dani Alves (6.5): A tough, ruthless supplement to an already formidable right flank. Wasn’t beaten all night long.
Mario Lemina (7): Perhaps Pogba’s replacement is already here in Turin. There were some striking similarities between the two players. A few blasts from outside the box tonight that were only kept out by Tatarusanu stretching out across the box. He also broke a few ankles in the center of the park with his take-ons and pace.
Sami Khedira (6.5): He scored the opener but outside of that didn’t do much else. Nearly grabbed his second but it was deflected wide. A quiet or subdued night for the German.
Kwadwo Asamoah (6.5): It’s good to see Asamoah back healthy after a few trying years. Caused problems for Fiorentina all night long in the attacking half.
Alex Sandro (6): Lost Kalinic on the corner which Fiorentina equalized on. That significantly hindered his rating tonight, otherwise he didn’t put a foot wrong.
Forwards
Paulo Dybala (7): His creativity and work ethic are what make this Juventus side so fun to watch. He, Higuain and Dani Alves are going to be worth the ticket price alone.
Mario Mandzukic (5): Very subdued night for the Croatian, can’t say much more than that. Taken off midway through the second half.

Gonzalo Higuain (8.5 MOTM): How do you respond when people have been making fun of your weight and saying you’re not worth the price tag? You score on your 3rd touch of the game. His fitness looks miles better than just 10 days ago with West Ham. A nice backheel and good movement in the attacking half gives a lot to look forward to.
Patrice Evra (N/A): Late addition, not enough time to evaluate his performance.
Hernanes (N/A): Late addition, not enough time to evaluate his performance.
