Napoli refuse Everton’s €25 million bid for Gabbiadini

The Partenopei have again rejected outright a bid for their striker.

Napoli received a proposal for €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses from Everton for forward Manolo Gabbiadini, who’s been on the radar for the Toffees as well as West Ham. But president De Laurentiis has decided to keeper his talisman, especially after the departure of Gonzalo Higuain.

Having failed to acquire Mauro Icardi from Inter, and purchasing Milik who’s untested at the highest levels, there’s a reason why Gabbiadini won’t be sold this summer.

After refusing Everton’s approach, De Laurentiis has begun talks for a renewal of Gabbiadini’s contract. Manolo currently earns €1.6 million per season is now being offered a 5-year deal worth €2.5 million per season net. However, his entourage is asking for €3.5 million per season.

The two parties have some distance to cover, but given his new role in Blue this year, it’s likely he will accept a new contract, his current deal expires in 2019.
