The former Bologna attacker could soon be offered a ticket back to Italy by the way Empoli.
According to Sky Sport, Empoli believe Alessandro Diamanti fits the profile of the type of player they need at the moment and their interest in the Italian International is said to be concrete. The trequartista is currently owned by Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande but has only made 24 domestic appearances since 2014.
There is confidence from the Empoli camp that a deal would be agreed upon however it would require Diamanti to lower his salary for it to take place. Last season, the 33-year old appeared in 16 games for Atalanta, collecting a goal and an assist.
