Sampdoria is a step away from announcing their new head coach, and Vincenzo Montella is the man of the hour.
Still technically under contract by Fiorentina, the parties have had to come to a financial agreement that suits everybody.
Montella has been working with his agent, Alberto Lucci to find an agreement with Fiorentina. According to SKY Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Sampdoria will pay Fiorentina €2.2 million for the release clause.
After signing Montella from Fiorentina, Sampdoria will most likely lock up “Aeroplanino” until 2018, a two and a half year contract worth €1.4 million a year.
Montella was sacked by Fiorentina following a dispute in the summer.
