Italian Daily Football understands that the former Cagliari owner, Massimo Cellino, has informed the supporters action group, Leeds Fans United, that he no longer wishes to sell his controlling share in Leeds United to them.
This move comes only days after the Sardinian had indicated that he would look to sell his controlling interest of 75% in Leeds to the supporters group which was set up in April with the intention of acquiring a majority stake in the Club. The supporters group were due to meet with Cellino’s lawyers today to discuss the terms of an agreement which would provide them with a period of exclusivity for the purchase of Cellino’s interest, but we understand that the meeting was cancelled as the Sardinian as decided that he is no longer willing to sell his share to the supporters group.
