In an interview with MilanNews.it, Atalanta sporting director Giovanni Sartori, spoke on the possible signings of Jose Mauri and M’baye Niang from Milan.
Mauri hasn’t played a single Serie A game for Milan so far and a loan-move away from the San Siro in January would certainly do good for his development.
“Jose Mauri? We think he is a good player, we followed him last year as well. We had a midfielder close to leaving us in the summer, and the ideal replacement was Mauri. Then the deal fell through, so we did not even try to sign Jose. It is a player we’re considering .”
“Another player we followed was Niang. He would fit very well in our attacking play. We tried to sign him in August, but he came from an injury and the Rossoneri were not willing to sell him. We will try to sign these two in Janaury? Hopefully we will not need anyone, but they are two players we like very much.”
