Following his side’s disappointing draw with Bologna, Massimiliano Allegri underlined the result and the path ahead.
In his post-match press conference with Mediaset, the former Milan boss said,:
“The team started well and had good chances. Credit to Bologna as we weren’t able to find many spaces. They closed us twice, while other times we messed up technically. It disappoints me that we didn’t win, we were coming off 15 wins, but you can’t always win. We didn’t have many shots thanks to Bologna. You win these games with one moment, the guys have been shooting their socks off for the last three months. It’s possible that one game you play worse. We have to play good in the Champions League in Torino and in the return leg.”
On Morata:
“He has characteristics to open up the game. Pereyra had a good return. Perhaps we had to attack more with our fullbacks. It was a complicated game and we weren’t able to score.”
Did you bring back the 4-3-1-2?
“It wasn’t an experiment, with Pereyra we have more options between the lines. Zaza had to give us depth, Cuadrado hadn’t trained either.”
Will you be going for Milan on Monday against Napoli?
“It’s a long league. We hoped to win all the games but it’s unthinkable. We hoped to do better. The league will be decided in the last game. It’s better to play a game every three days as we are not used to having one game a week.”
You’re playing a Bayern who’s coach is leaving at the end of the season.
“If I’m not mistaken, they’re used to it. It doesn’t change them. We are professionals. In Germany, they say things six months in advance.”
Are the last games like finals?
“I liked the approach and the desire to win all of the games until the end but there are also opposition. We will fight until the end.”
Update Mandzukic and Khedira’s condition.
“They are doing good. We hope to recover Chiellini and Alex Sandro. We have to recover our energy. We’re coming off an intense period both physically and mentally.”
