Roma picked up their sixth win in a row tonight via a 3-1 win over Tuscan side Empoli
Szczesny (6): Average showing from the polish goalie. Was at fault for the goal Roma gave up. Didn’t have to do much after it either.
Maicon (7): Underrated game from Maicon. He wasn’t amazing but he did his job well and was steady throughout the match. Solid shift from the defender.
Rudiger (8): Was asked to lead the defence today and he did just that. Was wonderful throughout the whole match and made life hard for the Empoli attackers.
Zukanvoic (6.5): Average showing. The Bosnian wasn’t bad but he also wasn’t amazing. Had decent moments but wasn’t as good as his partner Rudiger.
Digne (7.5): Good match from the Frenchman. Along with El Shaarawy, he dominated the left flank and also defended really well.
Keita (6): The Malian wasn’t up to it today. Was supposed to anchor the Roma midfield but wasn’t up to his usual standards. Could have been a better night for him.
Pjanic (7): Pjanic was very involved today and also scored a fantastic goal to put Roma up 2-1. It wasn’t a perfect night from Pjanic but he put in a decent shift and scored a very important goal.
Nainggolan N/A: Nainggolan was forced to come off in the 1st half due to injury.
Salah (6): Average from Salah. Worked hard all night but never delivered the final product. However he was credited with the assist for El Shaarawy’s second goal.
Perotti (7.5): Perotti once again played as the false 9 and once again was very good. Constantly dropped back to pick up the ball and create chances.
El Shaarawy (9): Roma’s man of the match! The Italian scored two goals, one which was a screamer from way out. Outside of the goals El Shaarawy also was very involved and worked out. A difference maker for Roma.
SUBS;
Iago Falque (5.5): Came on for the injured Nainggolan and really didn’t do much. Never settled into the game it seemed.
