Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer touched upon his fondness for Gianluigi Buffon in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.
In the pre-match press conference, Neuer joined Guardiola and was asked about Buffon. He told reporters,:
“Gigi is a goalkeeper who’s played at high levels for a lot of years. He’s demonstrated his class and international quality for years and he was always number one every season. This is an admirable accomplishment. I watched him in the Champions League and for Italy, he was a role model for me. It’s nice to see that he still matters in football and that I can play against him. Other than being a great keeper, he’s a good guy. He’s very friendly and he’s down-to-earth. With him, there’s a lot of respect.”
