Juventus and veteran defender Andrea Barzagli have agreed to a contract renewal and will announce it shortly.
According to calciomercato.com, Juventus and Andrea Barzagli have negotiated a new deal for the stalwart defender. The 34-year-old has arguably been the side’s best defender for the last few seasons and has emerged as one of the bianconeri’s most important players in their surge this season.
Sky Sport have reported that the deal will see the Italian international remain with the club until 2018 while the official announcement will be made shortly. After signing with Juventus from Wolfsburg for 300,000 euros, Barzagli has demonstrated just why he’s deserving of a new contract quelling all potential departure rumours.
This season the defender has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Italian champions and has no plans of slowing down in the near future.
