Allegri believes that his squad could have done more and knows that a repeat performance of their second-half is a must if they are to win in Germany.
Massimiliano Allegri spoke with Premium Sport following Juventus’ 1st-leg draw against Bayern Munich.
On his squad’s performance:
The team played well. We have to build on the performance of the second half more than the mistakes in the first half. We should have done better from the start but we still had some important opportunities. We improved in the second half and we were rewarded. We must win in Germany.
On Stefano Sturaro:
We needed substitutions since Khedira was slowing down. Sturaro brought sharpness and I was happy with Hernanes who did well after a period in which he was criticized.
On the second half:
At a certain point, we were not doing well in winning back the ball and when we succeeded, the opportunities arrived.
Their last man was often Vidal and we should not have conceded that much space. As long as Bayern kept a certain tempo, it was not easy for us. Fortunately the tempo dropped and we came out.
On their chances of going through:
We must think about the league, Inter and the Coppa Italia. We can do it.
