Roma’s President reaffirms that the club comes first and plays down claims that Spalletti showed a lack of respect towards Totti.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Roma President James Pallotta spoke out about the unrest between Francesco Totti and manager Luciano Spalletti:
I am surprised by what Totti said but at the same time, I understand the outburst was due to frustration. He is a great player, he wrote the story of Roma. loves to compete and is a superstar. But Luciano is our manager and since his arrival, many things have changed for the better. What he has done is dictated by a fundamental principal: The team comes first and no player is above the rest. It absolutely not true that Spalletti disrespected Totti, those are only speculations.
