Italy’s De Rossi has reminded the Italians of the 2014 meltdown after beating England in the opener of the World Cup.
Speaking to RAI, the Italy midfielder urged his men to keep their feet on the ground in the days ahead of the Sweden clash.
“It’s nothing shocking, really. I’ve been called up, I’m part of the 23 man team, I’m only partially happy right now. In Brazil, two years ago, we beat England and then we went out of the group stage. We need to be calm. Unfortunately, after this success, many can become lazy, but with this in mind anything can happen.”
The Azzurri get back to the pitch against Sweden, who has one point to their name, on Friday.
