When you think of Napoli, Marek Hamsik isn’t too far behind the first thing that comes to mind. He’s a hero in the city for refusing offers from big clubs to stay in the south of Italy and after the conclusion of Slovakia’s run in the Euros, De Laurentiis will reward him for his efforts.
The Azzurro captain came to Napoli in 2007 from Brescia and has since became a figure in the reborn side. Last season alone, he made 46 appearances in all competitions, including playing in every Serie A game.
According to Radio CRC, Napoli will offer Hamsik a long term contract worth €3.5 million a year plus bonus. He makes approximately €2.1 million per year now.
He’s scored 18 goals in 86 games with the Slovakian national team and has played in 402 matches with Napoli, scoring 98 goals and 93 assists.
