Pescara’s 26-year old in-demand striker Gianluca Lapadula is undergoing his proper medical examinations with Milan today. Here is the latest on the impending move from Delfini to the Rossoneri.
Out of nowhere, the Rossoneri have swooped in to reel the biggest catch of the Serie B winning side, Gianluca Lapadula. For weeks, it seemed apparent that Lapadula was headed to one of Juventus, Napoli, Genoa or Sassuolo. However, Adriano Galliani made the push for Lapadula late last night with a call to Pescara, allowing for the red and black to pull off a rapid move for one of the most in-demand attacking options across the Italian spectrum.
Lapadula who many believe was a “yes” away from a move to Napoli, said to Gianluca Di Marzio upon his arrival in Milan:
“It was a deal that happened in a flash, strongly desired by both sides. It was something that we both wanted and I’m very happy. I thank President Silvio Berlusconi and Galliani.”
Lapadula is currently undergoing the proper medical examinations at La Madonnina medical centre in Milan, the final hurdle to be surpassed before signing on the dotted line of a reported five-year deal with the Rossoneri. According to Sky, the red and black outfit will pay Pescara €9m plus €1m in bonuses in three installments for the 26-year old capocannoniere winning striker, who has been compared to German legend Miroslav Klose by manager Massimo Oddo. Lapadula on the Italian tactician’s comp:
“Miroslav Klose has had the kind of career that players dream of. So I thank Mr. Oddo for the comparison and for everything he has given me this year; I thank Pescara and Abruzzo.”
Lapadula is likely to finalize his transfer to Milan later today, and he hopes to translate his 30-goal output over to the Italian top flight next season.
