Tottenham place bid for Roma starlet Sanabria: The Details

Tottenham have placed an official bid for the Paraguayan phenom.

Earlier this week it was reported that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in acquiring Antonio Sanabria from Roma.  Now according to sources the London club has placed a bid.

According to Sky Sport, the English placed a €9 million bid on the table, but there’s still some distance to scale down. The Giallorossi for the moment have requested at least €12 million for his services.

Last season, Sanabria was regular for Sporting Gijon’s lineup featuring 29 times and scoring 11 goals in the La Liga.

Sanabria is a product of the famed Barcelona youth academy, but had a falling out with the club in which he ended up deciding to sign for Roma in 2014. In the past, he has been linked with a return to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and even Chelsea. It’s no surprise that his performances have turned heads while being so young.

He has appeared 8 times for the Paraguayan national side, and featured in their Copa America Centenario campaign. He has made only two Serie A appearances with Roma, the last coming in the end of the 2014/2015 season.
