The Empoli trequartista has excelled since leaving Milan for Empoli and it has not gone unnoticed by the Rossoneri.
As per Sportitalia, Adriano Galliani has contacted Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi to talk about the availability of attacking midfielder, Riccardo Saponara. However, due to the uncertainty regarding the sale of the club, Milan could hold off on going forward with a transfer just yet.
It was not the most memorable period at Milan the first time for the 24-year old. During his year and a half stint at the club, he only managed to appear in 7 games without collecting a goal or an assist. A return to Empoli in the 2014/2015 season was a blessing as he found the back of the net 7 times and notched 4 assists in 17 games. Saponara recently came off another successful season with five goals and ten assists in 33 games.
