Following Italy’s heroic victory against Spain, Antonio Conte spoke to Rai Sport
“The boys have something important inside them, something out of the ordinary. I said it before the match, it gets easier afterwards. Now we have to recover, we have another tough game ahead, against Germany, but we showed that Italy is not just ‘Catenaccio’.
“The best compliment we received was from Xavi who said that Italy reminded him half Atletico Madrid and half Barcellona. Saturday will be harder than today, it’s unfortunate that we lost [due to yellow card accumulation] Thiago Motta, he was our 12th man.”
Italy advance to the quarter-finals of this years Euros and will play current world champions Germany in Bordeaux.
