Axel Witsel, who is now in France taking part in the European Championship with Belgium, has been heavily courted by Napoli in the past few days.
After Napoli met with Witsel’s agent earlier today, Sky Sport Italia report that Zenit St. Petersburg have slapped a price-tag of €25million on the midfielder. Also, Axel Witsel is demanding around €3.5 to €4million in annual wages.
Contacts are expected to continue in the coming days as Napoli are looking to make their first significant signing of the 2016 summer transfer market session. However, if Napoli are to sign Witsel, they must act fast. Other clubs are fast approaching, most notably Everton. The Toffees are reportedly leading the race, as of now, to sign Witsel.
