The former Champions League winner reveals his dream managerial job and knows he still has a lot of learn.
Fresh off securing promotion to Serie B for Pisa in his first full year as manager at the club, Gennaro Gattuso spoke to Milan Channel about his growth as a tactician and dream of becoming bench boss at the Rossoneri:
I am taking the same path I did as a player. I am happy that nobody gifted me anything. I still have to improve myself in many aspects to become a good manager. I still have a lot of work to do to learn how to do this job. It is not enough just being a player. I am not short of the fire inside and the passion. To manage Milan is the dream, as it was the dream to wear the captain’s armband along with the glorious jersey. My road is still long because I must improve a lot. If I become a good manager, I hope to have that opportunity.
He then took the time to compliment Antonio Conte and the current Italy squad following their 2-0 win over Belgium:
For the umpteenth time, we saw the presence of great manager. He prepared a great game from a tactical point of view. Italy were masters of the pitch. I revisited the game this morning and they are great inspirations for those who are in the same profession as me. I must compliment Antonio Conte.
