Speaking to Rai postmatch, the Italy man applauded the team effort and win.
“Looking at the signals, we have less quality than the others, but we have other traits like grinta, heart and danger. In the lockeroom there’s a powerful spirit and in a competition like this quick and intense you need everybody. The group is very good. Physically we’re very good, I talked about it before the match with Zaza and Bernardeschi. It’s a shame I didn’t score the goal, but Courtois made a great save.”
Italy take on Sweden on Friday in the second round of Group E play.
