Lorenzo Insigne is currently training in France ahead of the Azzurri’s opener of Euro 2016 against Belgium.
The winger’s agent, Franco Della Monica spoke to Naples based Radio Crc.
“Having Lorenzo in the roster I believe is important for any coach and Conte has a lot of faith in Lorenzo. He can play from the first minute or he can come on when the game is in progress.
“I hope that against Belgium he plays at least half an hour, we’re talking about a very difficult game, Conte knows the opponent well and his men will depend on the group.
“Italy isn’t bad, they’ve absorbed the lessons from the coach, they can be compact and I believe that they can cause a few problems to Belgium. The 3-5-2 is the best model for this team, but I would’ve liked to see Italy play with a 3-4-3 because Insigne and El Shaarawy could’ve had their say. Insigne doesn’t have preferences, he’ll play where he’s needed. He’d even play in goal if necessary.”
However, there are rumors of the ‘Catalan dream’ where Insigne could line up with some of the best attackers in the world. Della Monica was coy on the developments.
“Barcelona’s chasing Insigne? I don’t want to go into details. Lorenzo deserves important clubs and Napoli is one of them. I’m certain that De Laurentiis will reward the player like he deserves.”
