Napoli are looking to sign a reinforcement in the fullback department but have now received competition from other giants.
Monaco’s Fabinho is attracting the interest of some of the finest clubs in Europe but will not sell cheap. The club had received an offer of €11 million from Napoli last week, however the Ligue 1 side requested €20.
The 22 year old full back was acquired from Portuguese side Rio Ave in 2013 and has since became a key player after Eric Abidal retired.
Napoli had hoped that Monaco would meet them in the middle of the two requests at €15 million, however with Manchester United and Barcelona in the hunt, it’s almost certain that the price will do anything but drop for Napoli. Gianluca Di Marzio reported that the two European giants were taking serious steps to acquire the Brazilian.
This past season, Fabinho made 47 appearances for the Principality side, scoring 8 goals.
