After losing out on Sime Vrsaljko, Napoli have been all in on Monaco fullback Fabinho.
The Partenopei are making upgrades not only in the midfield, but in the back as well. With Vrsaljko very close to signing with Atletico Madrid, the club are now looking at 22 year old Brazil international Fabinho of Monaco.
Aurelio De Laurentiis offered an initial fee of €11 million to the principality side, but it was rejected. They responded with a demand for €20 million, in which Napoli don’t seem willing to pay. An agreement could be found in the middle of the two bids, says Gianluca Di Marzio.
With Hector Herrera close to signing from Porto to reinforce the midfield, Fabinho seems likely to be another reinforcement for Maurizio Sarri’s side as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League this fall.
Fabinho was signed by Monaco from Rio Ave in Portugal in 2013 after a loan spell. This past season the 22-year old played in 47 matches with the Monaco side.
