Roma on verge of securing the services of a sought-after Empoli defender to strengthen their defense heading into next season.
In what may calm the mood ahead of the pending exit of Miralem Pjanic to Juventus and rumored move to Chelsea for Radja Naiggolan, Walter Sabatini has reportedly finalized a deal to sign Empoli left-back, Mario Rui. According to Tuttosport, the figures of the deal are around €10 million plus bonuses which will be a part of a loan plus obligation to buy.
Rui‘s representatives will meet with Roma in the coming days to discuss the agreement and duration of a contract. The 25-year old was a key part of Empoli’s backline this season, amassing 36 appearances and collecting two assists.
