The Croatian is nearing his switch to Atletico Madrid after the Euro.
Sassuolo and Atletico directors met this morning to finalize the remaining details regarding Sime Vrsaljko’s transfer to Spain. Now, Giuseppe Riso, the player’s agent is heading out to Madrid to finalize the agreement on the player’s behalf.
According to TMW, the parties are all close and there is little standing in the way of completing this deal.
Vrsaljko arrived in Italy during the summer of 2013 from Dinamo Zagreb with Genoa. He then was signed by Sassuolo a year later and has gone on to become one of the most consistent and well performing fullbacks in the Italian league.
He has since gone on to earn 18 caps for the senior Croatian national team and partake in two major tournaments.
