Carpi have fired coach Giuseppe Sannino and have reinstated Fabrizio Castori in his place.
Carpi are last in Serie A standings and hope the second time is the charm as they bring back coach Castori who they fired just over a month ago after six games. He was at the helm when Carpi was promoted from Serie B.
Sannino won in his Carpi debut versus Torino but then lost three and tied one match.
Here is the official communication from the club:
“Carpi F.C. 1909 announce that they have relieved Giuseppe Sannino as coach of the first team and Giovanni Cusatis from the role of technical adviser. We would like to thank them for their work. At the same time, we announce that Fabrizio Castori has been entrusted with role of first team coach and will run today’s practice at 15:00.”
In the battle to avoid relegation, Carpi are 4 points back of 17th place Frosinone.
