Italy’s talisman Graziano Pellè suffered a few knocks last night against Belgium.
A goal and a grit of the teeth for the Southamption striker, as he scored a goal in the last minute of the game but suffered a couple of separate knocks along the way.
For a minute, there was concerns that Pellè’s may have fractured the fifth toe on his right foot, but those fears have subsided following further examination. He’s got a really bad bruise but it’s nothing to be concerned about, according to Sky Sport.
In addition to his foot problems, he also suffered a dislocated finger after being stepped on in the second half of the match against Belgium.
It’s likely that Pellè will get another day off tomorrow before rejoining the team on Thursday ahead of the clash with Sweden on Friday. Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile are preparing to start just in case Pellè’s not able to go on Friday.
However, it’s increasingly likely that we will see the same starting duo, Eder and Pellè out on the pitch against Sweden on Friday at 3PM local time.
The Italian forward scored his sixth goal in fourteen appearances with the senior Azzurri side, he’s at a better pace than Mario Balotelli in terms of goals to games.
