Biancocelesti look to Italy international to fill need up front
In desperate need of a number 9 Lazio have set their sights on Ciro Immobile to replace Miroslav Klose.
Spanish outlet “ABC de Sevilla” reports the Biancocelesti will make a 9 million Euro offer for the Italy international. Immobile, on loan at Torino from the Europa League champions Sevilla is currently in France participating in Euro 2016 with Italy.
Despite Torino showing no signs of returning the Torre Annunziata native back to Spain the report suggests Lazio and Immobile’s entourage have come to a four year agreement worth €1.3 million year. Immobile joined Sevilla on a season long loan with the option to buy from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2015.
After making five first team starts by November the deal was made permanent with an €11 million tranfer fee. The former capocannoniere struggled in both Germany and Spain. A winter loan back to Torino where he scored 22 goals just two seasons ago has jump started Immobile’s career.
Five goals in 12 games and his tireless effort off the ball impressed Italy boss Antonio Conte enough to include him in his 23 man roster. Lazio hope to fill the gap left by Klose in order to return to Europe after a mid table finish this season.
